What you will do

  • Develop Category Management vision, strategies and objectives to deliver against broader business objectives
  • Identify and execute against strategic initiatives to build upon category advisor expertise
  • Partner closely with key stakeholder teams to understand critical business needs, trends and strategies
  • Manage a team of junior sourcing professionals and Category Buyers for the day-to-day coaching, training, and ongoing development
  • Define and implement global sourcing and outsourcing strategies that consolidate and optimize both the supplier base and services, while securing the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and access to the highest levels of service and quality
  • Leadership role in key procurement activities, including RFx development and execution, Statement of Work (SOW) and contract drafting, and pricing and contract negotiations (new client initiatives).
  • Greater participation/involvement in cross functional visionary development and implementation
  • Greater responsibility of coaching leadership qualities into subordinates and direct reports, building the future leaders of the organization

 

What you should bring

 

  • Experience with managing and mentoring small to medium sized teams, both from an operational and career perspective
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of large-scale centralized purchasing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to comfortably engage with all levels of management in client organizations
  • Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills i.e. regarding creating baselines, performing market tests/analyses, summarizing the key points succinctly by email/in presentation
  • Experience with leading and executing negotiations
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement projects at once and assess new purchase requirements based on spend risk etc.
  • Knowledge of variety of categories would be advantageous (trends, suppliers, industry specifics and terminology, legal frameworks)
  • Advantage: Any business process improvement methodology such as TQM, Six Sigma, APEX etc
  • Experience: 5+ yrs. Of proven relevant purchasing or Supply chain experience. Min. 3+ yrs. On Procurement leading positions
  • Fluency in English and Italian/Spanish/French at a business level
